Renew the PUC before the printed expiry
A brand-new vehicle's PUC is typically valid for 1 year from first registration; thereafter it must be renewed every 6 months. The exact validity varies by vehicle and fuel type, so always go by the expiry date printed on the certificate rather than a fixed calendar. Renewal takes a few minutes at any authorised emission-testing centre or fuel-station kiosk.
